HOW CAN I CLEAN MY RIA?

Each range is different and needs different care depending on the material they are made of. It is important not to wet them in the sea or pool, in case they get wet you have to let the Menorcans dry in the shade, so that they do not dry out or deform if you leave them in the sun. We do NOT recommend washing the menorquinas in the washing machine.

Follow our tips to clean each type of material:

Most of our models are made with oiled leather or "swun" skin.

In the case of oiled skin (the one with a little shine), it can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth and neutral soap or with basic  wipes (without alcohol or perfumes).

In the case of nubuck, suede or suede leather (they are "turned" leathers, matte effect) we recommend the use of protectors or moisture repellents, to avoid water droplet marks, etc. Once any of these skins has been stained, we recommend the following:

  • Dry clean with a curly sponge and a dust repellent spray.
  • Clean the stains before they dry (uss it is mud that should be left)
  • Do not apply water directly to the skin, only with a damp cloth, not wet.
  • If the shoe has been wet, the entire shoe should be cleaned, not just the affected area.

Nubuck or suede menorcans can be cleaned with various techniques.

  • For water or oil stains, put talcum powder on the shovel and let it act for several hours or days. Then the powders are removed with a brush or brush (dry and clean)
  • Stains can also be removed with an eraser. First remove the dust with a clean brush, pass the eraser (also clean) and then with a special brush or sponge for nubuck.
  • If they still haven't looked good, the last thing would be to clean them with a damp cloth and soap. In this case you have to take into account to clean the entire skin, not just the piece of the stains, since the skin will change color a little and darken.

These materials are quite delicate, any drop of water is marked, so we recommend the use of protectors or moisture / dirt repellents.
